On Friday the 15th of March Oakleigh Grammar joined schools around Australia to take action against bullying. Aimed at empowering young people, this day encourages students to stand up and address behaviour they are uncomfortable with, to ensure a contribution to creating a safer environment within their school is actioned.

It is important for us to acknowledge the power that our students possess in being able to influence their environment, and call out bad behaviour when they see or are affected by it. Oakleigh Grammar has consistently demonstrated a no tolerance for bullying policy! SRC Coordinator, Natasha Spanos, has helped students to organise the sale of wrist bands with “Bullying. NO WAY!” branded on them, to reinforce this policy on such a significant day.

If you have experienced bullying within our School, please know that it is important to speak up! Name calling, unwelcome conduct, contact via the Internet or mobile phones are some types of bullying that adolescents engage in. Your teachers and members of staff are here to support you in saying “No Way” to bullying!
