Through regular assessment and careful diagnosis, our Learning Enhancement team identifies students who have gaps in their learning journey and embark on the best path forward to address these challenges. Similarly, students who exhibit giftedness or talent are identified and provided with extension opportunities and higher order challenges.
We believe it is essential that our “safety-net” identifies students who need extra learning support, particularly in numeracy and literacy. Gifted students require more than ‘extra work’ – our responsibility to them is to set the academic bar higher and to encourage mastery.
The Learning Enhancement team also liaises with external specialists such as Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Educational Psychologists to identify, plan, support and deliver specific programmes.
Oakleigh Grammar is proud to offer The Arrowsmith Program for students with learning deficits in dyslexia, dysgraphia, auditory processing and memory. If you believe you or your child may benefit from the program, please visit The Arrowsmith Program page.
