Indigenous Literacy Day

Indigenous Literacy Day

Today, September 2nd, we are celebrating Indigenous Literacy Day. Indigenous Literacy Day aims to raise awareness of the need to support literacy in isolated Indigenous communities, and help raise funds to close the literacy gap and improve the lives and opportunities of Indigenous Australians living in remote regions.

Celebrate language and literacy by joining in on the various activities held today which you can find on this dedicated site: https://www.betterreading.com.au/news/events-festivals/join-the-celebration-indigenous-literacy-day-wednesday-2nd-september-2020/

Watch and listen to Indigenous stories on the following Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/IndigenousLiteracy/videos and you’ll even find Jessica Mauboy singing at 2:00pm today.

You can also find a number of stories on one of Oakleigh Grammar’s eBook platforms:
