My name is Sotiris and I am in Year 7.
Last month while I was having lunch with a family friend, I was informed about a special project which started about a year ago and takes place bi-monthly at St Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church in Dandenong called Feed500.
I instantly wanted to participate in such a beautiful cause, which was actually occurring that evening, and help make sandwiches for those less fortunate than myself.
So, that afternoon on September 22, with the help of 100 volunteers, we came together and made over 1100 sandwiches for the homeless and people suffering from food insecurity in Greater Dandenong.
It was a very rewarding experience which empowered me to take the next step and start this fundraiser to assist Feed500.
Money donations are needed to purchase the products used to make the sandwiches. The money donated will go towards bread, cheese, ham, butter and Vegemite to make more sandwiches to be given to those in need.
The smallest amount could make a huge difference to someone else’s life, particularly the children who receive the sandwiches for their school lunch.
Donations can be given next Tuesday 29/10/19 to Friday 1/11/19, after school from 3:15 to 3:30. Please come and visit me next to the library stairs for any donations and questions.
The next Feed500 event will be on Sunday 10 November 2019 at 5pm at St Panteleimon Church and everyone is welcome to volunteer. To attend, please email your registration details to Feed500 St Panteleimon on: firstname.lastname@example.org
Oakleigh Grammar will receive an official receipt of monies donated.
Thanking you in advance for your kindness and support.
