At Oakleigh Grammar, wellbeing is the foundation for lifelong learning and growth. When students feel safe, valued, and connected, they are empowered to achieve their best both inside and outside the classroom. Our whole-school approach ensures every child is known, nurtured, and supported to thrive.
Oakleigh Grammar's rich and impactful co-curricular educational program ensures that all students continue learning outside the classroom in a range of different settings and activities.

Right from the start music is an integral part of Oakleigh Grammar’s curriculum. In the Early Learning Centre we actively encourage spontaneity and an appreciation of music as a part of life. During their Primary Years students participate in music activities as core subjects through listening, singing, playing and dancing.
As they identify individual talents and preferences, students may develop their interests in music through to the senior level. Students are encouraged to participate in performance and musical productions.
The Arts challenge us with different points of view, compel us to empathise with others, and gives us the opportunity to reflect on the human condition from a global context across historical and cultural divides. An increase in arts educational experiences has remarkable impacts on students’ academic, social, and emotional outcomes. There is strong evidence that arts educational experiences can produce significant positive impacts on academic and social development.
Oakleigh Grammar acknowledges the value of critical, creative and reflective thinking skills nurtured through visual and performance-based education. These skills and experiences are essential in preparing students for tomorrow’s world by encouraging imagination, flexibility, adaptability, and risk-taking, made possible through a well-rounded curriculum.
