Oakleigh Grammar student Nathanael Anastasiou has received top honours for his outstanding VCE results in 2025. '

Nathanael received a Premier’s VCE Award for Excellence in Greek, making him one of only three students recognised across the whole state for being a top performer in this subject. 

Principal Mark Robertson said the entire school community was proud of Nathanael.

“Nathanael is highly motivated and dedicated to his studies.  It is a credit to his hard work and determination to do well for him to receive a Premier’s VCE Award for outstanding achievement in the Victorian Certificate of Education in 2025 for Greek.  This exceptional accomplishment is all the more noteworthy as Nathanael received this Award for his Unit 3 / 4 studies whilst in Year 11.  Mr Panagopoulos, Nathanael’s Greek Teacher is to be commended on his outstanding mentorship and tutelage of Nathanael.  It is clear Nathanael has been applying the same dedicated approach to his final year VCE Studies which augers well for him for a bright future beyond school.  We look forward to supporting Nathanael and his peers throughout their final months of Year 12.”

Nathanael was also recognised for his achievement in VCE Greek at the end of 2025, when he received the inaugural Philanthropic Society Nomoy Kavalas Agios Silas Award, which was established by the Philanthropic Society Nomoy Kavalas Agios Silas.

322 of Victoria’s top performing students were recognised at this year’s Premier’s VCE Awards, including three international students, eight students who completed the VCE Vocational Major program with distinction, and 23 Top All-Round VCE High Achievers who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects.

Oakleigh Grammar is incredibly proud of Nathanael’s achievement and he serves as an inspiration to all the School’s current students.
