The Oakleigh Grammar community gathered with joy and reverence to mark the beginning of the new academic year with its annual Whole School Blessing.
The service was led by His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne, supported by School Chaplain Fr Stavros Kakavas, together with the Very Reverend Fr Chris Dimolianis, Fr Menelaos Hazoglou and Fr Jean Mawal.
Our talented Byzantine Choir led the chanting beautifully, creating a moving and reflective atmosphere as students, staff and members of the School Board participated with deep respect and faith.
In his address to the community, His Grace Bishop Kyriakos reminded students and staff of the importance of their shared calling within education, to learn, to grow and to serve others with care and purpose. He encouraged students to apply themselves wholeheartedly to their studies, striving not only for personal success but to make a meaningful difference in the world around them.
Following the service, His Grace joined Principal Mr Mark Robertson, members of the clergy and the School Board for morning tea, continuing the spirit of fellowship and connection that defines the Oakleigh Grammar community.
As we begin the year ahead, we look forward to our students continuing to be guided by the Orthodox Christian values that underpin life at Oakleigh Grammar, inspiring faith, character and service in all that they do.
