2019 International Women’s Day

Iwd

In celebration of International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March, some of our Middle School and Senior School students came together at lunchtime today to make purple support ribbons.

The purple ribbons are being sold this week to teachers and students to acknowledge IWD 2019, and its theme of Balance For Better. We hope many members of our Community will wear a ribbon to show their support, and stand up for greater equality. Of course, purple is the IWD colour!

The SRC have decided that funds raised from the purple ribbons will be divided between the organisations of Catalyst (a leading non-profit organisation with a mission, to accelerate progress for women through workplace inclusion; plus they’re an IWD sponsor), and an Australian based organisation, Fitted For Work (which helps women experiencing disadvantage get work, keep work, and navigate their world of work so as to help gain financial security, social connectedness and dignity).
