The Benefits of Staying Connected

The Benefits of Staying Connected

There are many benefits to staying connected to your school even after you’ve graduated. Some benefits relate to recent graduates, while others relate to those graduates that may have left the school 20 plus years ago. No matter how long it’s been since you attended our school, staying involved will benefit you in some way.

For tips on staying involved without dedicating too much of your time, check out this blog post with 5 easy ways to stay active as alumni.

Networking opportunities
Staying connected to the Oakleigh Grammar community creates unique networking opportunities, allowing you to make connections that will advance your career. In the same respect, it allows you to find appropriate employees for your business – employees that have a connection to you in some way and are not complete strangers.

Exciting events
Oakleigh Grammar alumni not only have access to events specifically geared towards past students, but other exciting events held by the school including cocktail functions, trivia nights and business breakfasts. We welcome you back at any time, to any event. These not only allow you to maximise your networking opportunities, but also re-connect with the school in a fun and casual environment.

Giving back (and receiving recognition)
Whether it’s coming in to speak to and inspire our Year 12 Students or sharing your story, giving back to the school that you most likely attended for the entirety of your schooling career (or at least for five years) is not only fulfilling, but brings your name and, if applicable, business name to the forefront of our community’s minds. It’s a win-win!

Marketing & communications opportunities
Oakleigh Grammar values all community members and recognises that we are in a strong position to establish strong connections between those community members. Contacting the school when you want to share information about your business, a seminar or event or even if you’re looking to fill a vacant position at your company allows you to reach out to a large network of staff, families and students. We are currently building an exclusive Oakleigh Grammar Business Directory which will allow all members of our community not only to list their business, but advertise special deals and discounts as well as provide information on Job Vacancies.

Events and benefits based on interest
The more interest we gain from our past students, the more events and benefits we will establish. As we get to know you better, these events and benefits will better suit the majority of alumni, and everybody wins. The first step in order to achieve success here is to fill our this quick, 60 second survey (no really, it shouldn’t take you more than one minute to complete) to have your say on the kinds of Alumni events and benefits you’d like to see introduced or re-introduced at Oakleigh Grammar.
